Handbag essentials: 10 things every woman needs in her bag
Updated | By Tamlyn Canham
Here are 10 things every woman should not leave the house without.
While men are able to go about their daily business with a tiny wallet, most women cannot leave the house without their handbag.
Handbags are more than just a fashion statement for most women, as they literally carry their life in their bag.
Aside from the important stuff like identity documents, purse, and keys, there are several other must-haves every woman needs to carry.
Safety pins/small sewing kit: You never know when disaster will strike and you need a safety pin to keep a split skirt intact until you get back or a sewing kit to fix a loose shirt button.
Hand sanitiser: This is a no-brainer, but so many women forget to carry this essential. That grocery trolley you are pushing is covered in germs, and who knows where all those hands you have been shaking have been?
Breath mints: Especially if you are having tuna for lunch!
Perfume: Make sure you smell fresh all day by carrying a small bottle of perfume in your bag - especially on hot days.
Notebook and pen: Yes, your phone has a built-in notepad but what if your battery dies and you cannot get access to any important to-do lists. A notebook is also great for jotting down ideas when creativity strikes out of the blue, track your spending, or journal your thoughts.
Wet wipes: Moms know all to well about the importance of carrying wet wipes everywhere they go. They are also a must for women without children. They have so many uses!
Plasters: These are a must for women who are wearing new closed-toe shoes for the first time. You are likely to need a plaster while breaking your shoes in.
Portable phone charger: We live in a scary world, and the last thing you want is for your battery to die when you need to make an important call.
Tampon/sanitary towel: Make sure you are prepared for the "red robot" at all times, unless you want to be caught in a messy situation.
Water: Stay hydrated throughout the day by carrying a water bottle in your bag.
