Manifesting love: A change in thinking can attract 'the one'

After three failed marriages, Halle Berry tried manifestation to attract her "perfect match" and it worked. At least, according to her.

If you have been unlucky in relationships, manifestation could hold the secret to finding your true love—just ask Halle Berry!

The 58-year-old says she used the technique to "spiritually" attract her current beau.

In a recent interview, she revealed that she manifested her partner, singer-songwriter Van Hunt, after three divorces and a few relationships in between.

Berry and Hunt started dating in 2020 during COVID-19. The pair met through his brother, whom she had been friends with for years.

"You should meet my brother," Hunt's brother told her, and the rest is history. However, according to Berry, their union wasn't so random.

The Oscar-winning actress says a change in thinking helped her find her way to him

"I manifested him," she said during a recent appearance on 'TODAY with Jenna & Friends'.

With three failed marriages behind her, she had all but given up on finding her dream guy.

The 'Monster's Ball' actress was previously married to baseball star David Justice, singer Eric Benét, and French actor Olivier Martinez.

"Having gone through three divorces, I finally knew what wasn't working, and I realised I was always saying to the universe what I didn't want...

"So guess what I did? I manifested what I didn't want. So, I really had to change my thinking, and instead of thinking of what I didn't want, I had to get intentional with what I did want," she said.

These are some of the questions she asked when attracting her soul mate:

  • What was my perfect partner?

  • What would he be like, feel like?

  • What walk of life would he have come from?

  • Who would he be?

  • How would he treat me?

Berry says she got very "granular with it", and then, poof, he showed up. Despite her manifestation being a success, the actress says she would have been okay if he hadn't shown up.

"I would have been good just to raise my kids," the mom of two added.

"After three divorces, you kind of go, 'I'm just going to be alone,' and I was ready to do that. I was done. I knew that if the right person didn't show up for me, I'd be better off going at it alone. But this is the power of manifestation. We can manifest any reality we want."

We're glad Berry beat the 'Cat Lady' curse, but is there really power in manifestation?

If you've read books like 'The Secret' by Rhonda Byrne, which deal with laws of attraction, then you are probably part of Team Manifestation.

However, some are not believers and think it is all mumbo jumbo.

While positive thinking has many benefits, the law of attraction and manifestation takes things to a whole new level.

There is no scientific proof that manifestation actually works, but regardless of what you believe, there's no denying that the practice can be helpful in some ways.

For one, thinking positively about your life and what you want can help you on days when you feel demotivated. It can totally change your outlook on how things are going.

Manifestation also encourages visualisation, which is like a vision board in your mind. Seeing the things you want makes you dream big and work harder toward your goals

Hunt came along two and a half years after Berry started her meditative process so if instant gratification is what you want, it might not work for you.

"I thought if he doesn't show up, he doesn't show up, but God, I'm going to try, and then he showed up. And it was the perfect match for me."
