McDonald's announces more 'sustainable' toys in Happy Meals

One of the exciting things about buying the Happy Meal at McDonald’s is the free toy that the kids get.
However, these toys are made from plastic, which can be harmful to the environment.

McDonald’s has just announced that its Happy Meal is going greener.
The fast food giant says it is planning to phase out plastic toys.
It will move towards using sustainable materials that are environmentally friendly. These includes recycled materials.
“With this transition for our toys, we’re working closely with suppliers, families and play experts and engineers to introduce more sustainable, innovative designs and help drive demand for recycled materials, to keep McDonald’s communities and beyond smiling for generations to come,” said McDonald’s chief sustainability officer, Jenny McColloch, in a statement.

“Since launching in 1979, the Happy Meal has undergone unique menu, ingredient and play innovations. This week’s announcement is the first global environmental sustainability milestone for our beloved toys,” says the burger giant.
It has plans to phase out all the current plastic toys by the end of 2025.
