A month of celebrating phenomenal South African Women: Nicky Newton-King

The month of August is dedicated to individuals that hold everything together - our phenomenal South African women.
Today we shine a bright light on Nicky-Newton King.
Born in 1966, Nicky is the first woman Chief Executive Officer in the 125-year history of the Johannesburg Stock Exchange.

She joined the JSE in 1996 and became the executive director of the JSE in 2000. In 2012, she was appointed CEO of the JSE, replacing Russell Lobster.
Amongst her awards received during her career are Business Woman of the Year, Yale World Fellow, and World Economic Forum 100 Global Leaders for Tomorrow.

Nicky completed her BA and LLB at Stellenbosch University and later went on to the University of Cambridge. While at Cambridge, Queens College awarded her a Foundation Scholarship for academic achievement.
Demonstrating that women can do it all and pushing beyond the norm is possible, Nicky is an accurate role model.
