Learning never stops.

Sport is not only entertaining, but there is a lot that one can learn from it.

These are the top three phrases we learned at the 2023 World Cup where the Springboks emerged as the champions.

Wit Kant

Uh oh...

Don't say this near any English rugby players!

We know that it means 'white side', but it got lost in translation badly when the Boks played England in the semis.

Bomb Squad

This is a phrase or nickname for the Springboks' replacements on the bench.

Eurosport gives the following meaning: "The name given to the group of forwards renowned for making a devastating impact off the Springboks' bench."

Ox's real name

Springbok player Ox Nche's real name is Retshegofaditswe 'Ox' Nche.

Retshegofaditswe means, 'we are blessed'. And, boy, were we blessed in that semi-final!

According to Rugby World, he was given the nickname 'Ox' as a testament to his power at the scrum and in breakdowns.

His sister, Fox, also plays rugby and according to The South African, she plays in the same position as her older brother.
