Following these smart steps will help minimise the chances of your bank account being hacked.

Many South Africans have recently fallen victim to the “FACEBK” card fraud.
First National Bank (FNB), Standard Bank, Nedbank, Capitec, and Absa credit card users reportedly had unauthorised transactions on their statements with the reference “FACEBK”.
Some of the users reportedly don't even have Facebook, while others fell victim to fake Facebook adverts that lured them to click on them and make purchases using their credit cards.

Following these smart steps will help minimise the chances of your bank account being hacked:
- Set up a strong password or PIN for your banking profile.
- Use more than one method of authentication. For instance, you could use your user name and password and the OTP, which would be sent to your phone or email.
- Do not use public WI-FI to access your internet banking.
- Log out of your banking app when you are done transacting.
- Do not share your personal details with anyone.
- Do not give your PIN number or password to anyone, even if they say they are calling from the bank.
