A South African pupil has taken to Instagram to share her disappointment after a designer delivered a dress for her that looked nothing like the one she had requested.
One of the biggest events in a learner's life is the matric dance.
A matric dance is a symbol that twelve years of schooling is coming to an end, marking the end of the school career.
This dance symbolises stepping into adulthood.
Many pupils go all out, getting their outfits specially designed and hiring fancy cars.

One pupil was left disappointed after her designer butchered her dress.
Taking to TikTok, the South African pupil shared the original design she shared with her dress maker - a mermaid dress with sheer fabric.
Sadly, her designer made a dress that looked nothing like the original dress she had asked for.
The girl shared crying emojis as she shared that her matric dance was happening the following day.
Some advised the girl not to go to the matric dance with the kind of dress that might make her a laughing stock. One designer even offered to help the young girl.
