Trevor Noah donates R8-million to local charity

It is said that charity begins at home. Trevor Noah is creating life-changing opportunities for his homies - the South African youth.
South African born star, Trevor Noah, is a firm believer that education is the key to unlocking a brighter future.
He is playing his bid in ensuring that the world becomes a better place through his charity work.
The star has donated a whooping R8-million to help under-privileged schools in South Africa.
The donation was made on behalf of The Trevor Noah Foundation and in partnership with YouthBuild South Africa (YBSA).

It is aimed at helping young people to get education and to help them with training and practical construction skills.
“Kids of today are being told to be the leaders of tomorrow, but they’re not given the tools,” says the Hollywood A-lister.
“The higher the level of education, the higher chance the youth have of creating a future for themselves and collectively, a better South Africa,” says Trevor Noah.
He has been putting his money where his mouth is.
The goal of the initiative is to reach 25 schools by the end of 2025.
Speaking about the project, Noah said: “I'm excited about this partnership with YouthBuild because we're creating life-changing opportunities for South African youth. We all deserve to achieve our fullest potential no matter where we come from.”

The goals of the Trevor Noah Foundation as stipulated on the website are:
1. Cultivate and grow global and local partnerships that can grow communities through education
2. Improve learning infrastructure to create environments that inspire learners to want to come to school and learn, and teachers to teach
3. Train teachers, equipping them with the leadership capacity, tools, and skills to deliver 21st Century education
4. Provide youth with the support structure and tools to be emotionally healthy, empowered, resilient, and confident.

Psychosocial support
Literacy
Leadership development
Career guidance
Digital skills
Steam education
