Uber driver brings bride to tears with heartbreaking story
Updated | By Lifestyle Reporter
It's not the type of story you want to hear on your way to marrying the man of your dreams, but this bride says she felt a beautiful connection with an Uber driver after hearing his sad story.
A bride from Chicago expected to shed a tear or two on her wedding day, but she didn't think they would be tears of sadness.
Kindsey Carbol booked an Uber to drive her to her wedding venue, where she would prepare for her special day. Just hours away from walking down the aisle, she was filled with excitement, eager to marry her prince, Elias Gaynor.
During the 35-minute drive to the venue, Kindsey and her sister, Camry Carbol, struck up a conversation with the Uber driver. He revealed that he was ditched "out of nowhere" shortly before his wedding day.
"POV [point of view]: It's your wedding day, but you're an empath, and your Uber driver's fianceé ghosted him a month before his wedding," Camry captioned a video she shared on TikTok.
The driver says he missed a call from his partner while at work and called her back.
"She started crying, and I am like, 'Why are you crying.' And she said, 'I want to finish our relationship.' I'm like, 'What?'" the driver said.
The man says he thought she was joking. Kindsey was so moved by the man's story that she cried.

Speaking to People magazine about the incident, Kindsey's sister, Camry, shares the driver noticed their excitement and nervousness as they headed to the wedding, which prompted him to open up about his personal story.
She isn't surprised that her sister reacted the way she did.
"I believe Kindsey’s emotions were already heightened as it was such a huge day for her! She was happy, of course, but understandably sentimental."
Camry described the man as a "sweetheart", adding that her sister felt a beautiful connection with the Uber driver.
"If we could have given him six stars, we would have!"
