Seeds that grow inside pumpkins are edible.
Heart.org says the best way to prepare the seeds for eating is to soak them in water for a few hours to help remove the pulp from the shells.

The seeds are also full of nutrients which can do wonders for your health.
Some of the benefits are that they have healthy fats, zinc, and magnesium.
Magnesium is great for controlling blood pressure, reducing heart disease risk, forming and maintaining healthy bones, and regulating blood sugar levels.
Zinc has been proven to help reduce inflammation, boost immune health, reduce your risk of age-related diseases, speed wound healing, and improve acne symptoms, according to Healthline.
The same website adds that some of the benefits of pumpkin seeds also includes improved heart health, prostate health, and protection against certain cancers.
CBC News states that pumpkin seeds have great benefits for sexual health.
Pumpkin seeds are rich in omega-3 essential fatty acids, which act as a precursor of prostaglandins - hormone-like substances important for sexual health, reports CBS. It also reports that they may help with erectile dysfunction and are a great libido booster for women because of the zinc and omega-3 essential fatty acids.
