Vlogger Cooking Queen has shared a delicious and easy recipe:
INGREDIENTS
2 eggs
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup amasi/sour milk
1/2 cup custard
4 cups flour
4 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp bicarbonate of soda
1/4 tsp salt
250g unsalted butter(at room) temperature
Method
- Add flour, salt, sugar and baking powder in one bowl.
- Mix well and sift dry ingredients.
- In a separate bowl mix egg, custard, milk and vanilla essence and set aside.
- Add softened room temperature butter to the sifted dry ingredients.
- Rub in the butter using your fingertips until mixture resembles bread crumbs.
- Make a well in the middle of the breadcrumb like mixture and pour in your wet ingredient.
- Gently mix until the consistency enables you to mould a ball using the dough (do not overmix).
- Tranfer the dough into a clean flour dusted surface.
- Knead the dough for about 2 -5 minutes.
- Roll dough until about 1cm thick.
- Use cookie cutters to cut out your desired shape.
- Place the cut scones in a prepared baking tray.
- Give the scones an egg wash.
- Bake at 180 degrees Celsius for 15 – 20 minutes or until golden brown.
Enjoy!
