Newspaper: A window's best friend

Dirty windows are a pain in the backside.

The more you clean your windows, the more dirt seems to arrive out of nowhere and ruin all your hard work! This is especially the case in South Africa, with our varying types of terrains.

Well, there might be a reason for that.

A lot of people still use old rags to clean their windows. All the rags do is reintroduce dirt to your windows when you wipe off your cleaning product of choice.

You can wash the rags as much as you want, but the more you use them, the more the dirt sticks to it, essentially rendering your efforts of cleaning windows pointless.

In order to keep your windows looking cleaner and fresher for longer, use newspaper.

Newspaper is an excellent substance for wiping dirt off windows, and is readily available in almost every household.

All you need to do is spray on your window cleaner, wipe down with a piece of newspaper. Then take another piece of newspaper and wipe again, until all of the window cleaner is gone from the window itself. A third going over with newspaper won't hurt to get that perfect finish.

If you have extremely dirty windows, wash them down with soapy water and a sponge, and then follow the steps mentioned above.

The clean newspaper soaks up all the dirt and leaves a glossy finish.

So, now is the time to throw away your old rags and start reading the newspaper again - you won't just gain more worldly knowledge, but you will have crystal clear windows too.
