A quick and delicious Easter table decoration
Updated | By Andrew Hallett
Easter is just days away, so here is something quick and easy you can create to make your table look extra special this year.
As with holidays like Christmas, there is a certain stress involved when it comes to entertaining at Easter.
You want to make sure that your table looks beautiful... along with not burning the roast in the oven.
While I am unable to ensure that your roast doesn't burn, I am able to help you create something extra special for your table this Easter.
Colourful hard-boiled eggs! Yes, you read right. While we will all be eating our fair shared of chocolate eggs, these boiled eggs are an excellent way to kill two birds with one stone - and stop you from constantly eating chocolate.
Basically, your table will look awesome and you will have a tasty snack to enjoy for the days following Easter!
What you will need:
As many eggs as you want
A pot
Water
Salt/Vinegar
Non-toxic craft paint
Paint brush
What you need to do:
1 - Boil your eggs in the pot for about 10 minutes to ensure they are hard inside. Add vinegar or salt to the boiling water at the start to ensure your eggs do not leak out of any cracks in the shell. Be careful when you place the eggs in the boiling water and when taking them out, as you do not want to break the shells.
2 - Run cold water over the boiled eggs and leave to cool - 30 minutes should be fine.
3 - Once cool, dry off your eggs, place them eggs on newspaper, and on an even surface - you don't want them rolling away and cracking.
4 - Use your craft paint and brush to decorate your eggs any way you see fit. The more colourful the better!
5 - Place the eggs on your table as a decoration for your Easter meal.
6 - After the meal, store your eggs in the fridge and enjoy them over the coming days. A hard-boiled egg will be fine in the fridge for up to a week after cooking.
