Three unique uses for your bath soap
Updated | By Andrew Hallett
Did you ever think to use your bath soap for things other than cleaning your body?
Most of us are lucky enough to be able to shower or bath on a regular basis, with bath soap being the most popular product for ensuring we smell delicious for the day ahead.
At this time of year in South Africa, the heat we encounter requires us to shower or bath more than usual, so you are likely to become even more familiar with that bar of soap sitting in your bathroom.
The next time you pick up that soap, however, your world is going to be open to a whole bunch of new opportunities (well, three), as we have found three unique uses for bath soap other than just keeping you smelling fresh.
1 - Turn that screw
It can be difficult to screw in a screw at times, especially if the material you are using is tough. However, by rubbing the thread of the screw with a wet bar of soap, this will lubricate the thread enough to ease it into the material. Easy peasy.
2 - Cleaning windowsills
Simply take a wet bar of soap and rub it along windowsills and the bottom of the windows. This will leave a lovely shine and get rid of any dirt in the tough-to-reach places.
3 - Keep bugs away
If your plants are being devoured by bugs, all you need to do is soak a bar of soap in water. Take the soapy water and put it into a spray bottle. Spray the underside of your leaves and the bugs won't be a pain anymore. Gives a new meaning to the term 'bugger off'...
