Jojo tank
One of the best ways to store water for rainy days, from rainy days, is a Jojo tank.
The tank is used to collect and store rainwater.
The tanks come in different sizes.
The water can be used for irrigation, flushing toilets, and washing clothes.
The water can be used for drinking with proper filtration.
Borehole
Boreholes are one of the best financial investments you can make for your home.
Although it is costly to drill a borehole, it is a permanent, good solution to the water crisis.
Water bottles
If you don't have the money for the above two options, simply storing water in bottles or cans for water outages is a good way to plan.

How to preserve water in your home
- Use the shower instead of the bath and when soaping up in the shower, turn off the water. Also, while waiting to get the right temperature for the water, use a bucket so the cold water doesn't go to waste.
- Don't leave the water running while brushing your teeth.
- Use the washing machine fully loaded, not half full, to save water.
- For handwashing your clothes, don't fill the tub, and do not rinse more than once.
- When washing dishes, don't fill the sink, but pour enough water to enable you to wash the dishes and refrain from rinsing dishes with running water.
- Water the plants with a watering can.
- Reuse rain water to water your garden, wash your car or even do laundry.
- Fix all leaks in your house.
- When pouring water into a glass to drink, only pour as much as you will be able to drink.
- Use a bucket and sponge to clean the car instead of a hose pipe.
