South Africa is currently in Autumn. Here are five vegetables that are best grown during the season.

Let's look at five vegetables that are best grown in Autumn.
Cabbage
Although cabbage can be grown throughout the year, experts say it is not advisable to grow it during very hot or very cold months. This makes autumn the best month to plant the veggie.
Cauliflower
Cauliflower should not be planted in very hot or very cold periods or areas.
According to The Gardener, it is best to plant cauliflower in the coolest section of the vegetable garden and plant in positions that receive afternoon shade.
Carrots
According to Farmers Weekly, the best time to plant carrots is from February to April and from August to October. They should be ready for harvest 70 to 80 days after planting.
Kale
Kale is best grown in Autumn and the plants will continue to grow through Winter.
The green veggie grows best in fertile, well-composted soil that is slightly acidic.
Lettuce
The best months to grow lettuce is from February to April. It should be planted in loamy, well-drained loose soil.
Summer is generally too hot for lettuce production, so it is best to grow it in Autumn when the soil temperature is lower.
