Unforgettable celebrity moments on Breakfast Show
Updated | By Lee-Roy Wright
Martin and Tumi have had some of the most influential and highly publicised celebrities on their show. We take a look back at some of the highlights.
Over the years, South Africa's celebrity culture has become a lot more prevalent, with so many more personalities sprouting within the industry.
With the ever increasing hype over social media, more and more celebrities are being made on platforms such as Twitter and Instagram.
If there is one local celebrity who is not only one of the most followed personalities on social media who keeps us entertained, it's his witty and 'clap back' style of judging on Idols SA that has us all talking - it's none other than Somizi Mhlongo.
When Somizi speaks or tweets, you just have to listen. You never know what he might say, but it's always highly entertaining. Being a choreographer, an reality music show judge as well as a radio host, we knew we had to test his music knowledge.
Tumi Morake put Somizi to the test in a round of 'Finish the Lyrics'. From Britney Spears, AKA to some Kurt Darren, Somizi's music knowledge was put to the test.
One of Martin and Tumi's first guests was singer and actress, Amor Vittone.
Having been in one of the most high profile relationships in the country, constantly in the public eye and currently in a public court battle, Vittone has had her fair share of scrutiny.
Speaking to Martin Bester and Tumi Morake earlier this year she addressed the many rumours that were circulating at the time.
Was this the year that former Public Protector Thuli Madonsela revealed her crush in the ANC?
It sure was!
In a hilarious round of 'Never Have I Ever' with Tumi Morake, Mandonsela candidly answered a few of Morake's 'interesting' questions.
Has she ever cheated during a test? Who is her crush within the ANC? Has she ever used her title to get ahead?
We got all the answers and so much more, and it's definitely one of unforgettable celebrity moments of 2017.
One of the biggest celebrity highlights on the show was the day Martin and Tumi hosted Fokofpolisiekar as they launched their latest album, #Selfmedikasie.
The guys spoke about how the album came about, their favourite performances thus far as well as why it took them 11 years to release new music.
This was an incredible exclusive for us and a moment we will never forget...
How incredible were those performances?
Goosebumps!
Another one of our favourites was the day newly hitched TV personality Minnie Dlamini joined us in studio.
She recently made headlines when she tied the knot in a gorgeous ceremony in Cape Town.
Being on the most talked about celebrities in SA, Martin jumped at the opportunity to ask her a few candid questions in a round of 'Never Have I Ever'.
Has she ever walked around the house naked? Does she insta-stalk Bonang Matheba? Has she ever flirted or cried her way out of a road block?
We got it all, watch:
