Audio: Naledi Aphiwe pens new song for Winnie Khumalo

Internet sensation and singer, Naledi Aphiwe, has recorded a new song in honour of the legendary Winnie Khumalo.
The world continues to mourn the death of veteran singer Winnie Khumalo.
On Wednesday, internet sensation and singer Naledi Aphiwe shared a song she recorded to honour the late star.
"Rest in peace to our Wonderful Lady ❤️🤍🕊️Winnie Khumalo, you will always be remembered for your amazing work and voice," she captioned her post.
Aphiwe sings in Zulu:
Mama Winnie, Mama Khumalo. You played your role. You walked your journey.
Rest in peace
Thank you for the music you gave us
We will not forget you
You will remain in our hearts
The Instagram post has received over 17,000 likes. Celebrities such as DJ Tira and Babes Wodumo commented with heart emojis.
Winnie passed away on Tuesday, January 7. According to a statement released by the family, Winnie died after a short illness. She was 51 years old at the time of her death.
The Afro-pop star has been described as a legend.
“Ms Khumalo was a legend. It fills us with great pride that she has left us some good memories of her undeniable artistic abilities. The music industry benefitted greatly from her distinct voice and songwriting ability. The afro-pop music genre is poorer with her passing," read a statement published on Parliament's site.
