20 years later… Avril Lavigne visited the same New York street where her 'Let Go' album artwork was shot.
Avril Lavigne is celebrating the 20th anniversary of her debut studio album, 'Let Go'. The 37-year-old returned to the same location in New York where she shot the album's cover.
She recreated the moment by wearing a similar outfit and striking a similar pose. Avril shared a video of the moment on her TikTok page on Tuesday.
The clip has been watched more than six-million times.
Avril released 'Let Go' on 4 June 2002. She was a teenager at the time.
The multi-platinum selling album produced hits such as 'Complicated', 'Sk8er Boi', 'Losing Grip', and 'I'm With You'. It was also nominated for a Grammy in the 'Best Pop Vocal Album' category.

Earlier this month, Avril released a deluxe edition of 'Let Go'. She also shared a lengthy message about how the album changed her life.
"I will never be able to fully explain not only how much this album meant to me, but the monumental impact it has had on my life. It’s hard to try and comprehend how, 20 years later, the songs I wrote as a 17-year-old would still resonate with people today. It’s pretty crazy," she wrote.
Avril credit the album for putting on her on a path to success.
"[It] took me places I never in my wildest dreams could have ever expected and I am thankful for it every single day. None of this would have been possible without the help and guidance of LA Reid, Lauren Christy, The Matrix, Cliff Magness, Curt Frasca, and Sabelle Beer. I will always be grateful to you guys for letting me be myself."
She also thanked her fans for their continuous support.
"I say every night on stage how lucky I feel to be making music, touring and having as much fun as I do. I share this moment with all of you, because without you guys, these songs wouldn’t have reached the heights that they did. A genuine, heartfelt thank you to anyone that ever listened to my music and stuck around."

Avril's personal life is also doing well. She got engaged to Mod Sun in March.
"It was the most perfect, romantic proposal I could ever ask for. We were in Paris on a boat in the Seine River. We had a violin player, champagne and roses. It felt like time stood still, and it was just the two of us in the moment," she told PEOPLE magazine.
