Backstreet Boys star's son auditions for 'American Idol'

Brian Littrell says his son is 10 times more talented than him, and after watching his audition we have to agree!

The apple doesn't fall far from the tree when it comes to Brian Littrell and his son, Baylee.
The Backstreet Boys star's son showed off his vocals during an 'American Idol' audition.
Baylee, 22, is trying to forge his own path in the music industry after watching his dad perform hits such as 'I Want It That Way', 'As Long as You Love Me' and 'Show Me the Meaning of Being Lonely'.
The aspiring singer brought along his father and mother, Leighanne Littrell.
However, he didn't mention his famous father until the judges, Luke Bryan, Lionel Richie, and Carrie Underwood, said there was a certain familiarity about him.
"There's something about you that looks familiar," Underwood said.
Baylee replied, "My dad is Brian Littrell from the Backstreet Boys."
The father and son look alike, but their music styles are very different. While the Backstreet Boys sing pop, Baylee prefers country.
The pressure was on Baylee to prove that he was more than just a nepo baby.
He didn't make things any easier for himself when he announced that he would be singing an original song – something that usually ends in disaster at this stage of the competition.
In an interview that played with his audition, Baylee joked that he only got his voice from his dad, but not his killer dance moves.
"I guess you can say music runs in our family, dance moves wise, that's the one thing that didn't get passed down genetically."
Brian, meanwhile, was proud to see Baylee following in his footsteps.
"I've always told everybody that he's 10 times more talented than I ever was," he said.
The moment of truth finally arrived, and Baylee did not disappoint. His natural talent floored the judges.
"You're really good," Underwood told him. "I love the song, and that's a risk when people come in singing their own songs. That was great... I think you could go very, very far in this competition."
Brian got teary-eyed talking about his son backstage. "We're super proud. He's obviously grown up in the business and I think he's cut out for it."
The judges asked the father and son to sing the chorus together. Of course, proud dad Brian knew every single word.
"I'm very happy for you and very proud of your son. He's got his own lane and I think you can go a long way," Richie said.
Social media users agreed. Many said that, unlike some celebrity children who come across as entitled and arrogant, he seemed humble.
"Usually, most children of superstars spend their entire lives trying to get out of their parents' shadows. But this is one case in which Brian Littrell wasn’t exaggerating. His son is legit extremely talented!! His voice is so harmonious. And also he’s a great songwriter since this is his own song," an Instagram user commented.
Another user added: "The duet with dad literally blew me away! That was soooooo beautiful 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 I was waiting for more❤️❤️❤️."
