Beyoncé on breaking down barriers with country music

“When you are breaking down barriers, not everyone is ready and open for a shift."
Beyoncé Knowles continues to celebrate the success of her country album, 'Cowboy Carter'.
Although the album has been well-received by the masses, the singer says it was challenging to venture into a different genre of music.
The superstar says not all were welcoming to the change.
“When you are breaking down barriers, not everyone is ready and open for a shift," Beyoncé told The Hollywood Reporter.
She said the album's success on the charts has been exciting and motivating.
"But when I see Shaboozey tearing the charts up and all the beautiful female country singers flying to new heights, inspiring the world, that is exactly what motivates me,” the singer told the publication.

The multi-award-winning artist said she poured herself into her music.
“There was a time in my life when charts and sales excited and motivated me. Once you have challenged yourself and poured every ounce of your life, your pain, your growth and your dreams into your art, it’s impossible to go backward,” she said.
The 'Upgrade U' hitmaker said she is grateful for the success of the new album.
“I’m very grateful and humbled for the extraordinary success of the new album,” she added.

'Cowboy Carter' was released on 29 March 2024.
Before the release, in February, Beyoncé released two singles, 'Texas Hold 'Em' and '16 Carriages'.
After the release, she made history by becoming the first black woman to top Billboard's Hot Country Songs chart with 'Texas Hold 'Em'.
The album launched at No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Country Albums, Americana/Folk Albums, and Top Album Sales charts.
