Billie Eilish amongst artists against inappropriate use of AI in music

"This assault on human creativity must be stopped."
Artificial intelligence (AI) is taking over the world.
One of the biggest risks of AI is job losses due to its automation.
AI is also being used in music. Last year, The Beatles released a new song featuring the voice of late star John Lennon's voice using AI.
Although there are positive things that can be done in music using AI, there is also a risk of replacing the human artistry of songwriters and artists.

The Artist Rights Alliance movement has written an open letter to prevent the inappropriate use of AI.
“We call on all AI developers, technology companies, platforms and digital music services to pledge that they will not develop or deploy AI music-generation technology, content or tools that undermine or replace the human artistry of songwriters and artists or deny us fair compensation for our work,” the letter reads.
“Make no mistake: we believe that, when used responsibly, AI has enormous potential to advance human creativity and in a manner that enables the development and growth of new and exciting experiences for music fans everywhere.
“This assault on human creativity must be stopped.
“We must protect against the predatory use of AI to steal professional artists’ voices and likenesses, violate creator’s rights, and destroy the music ecosystem.”

Some of the artists that have signed the open letter are Billie Eilish, Katy Perry, Nicki Minaj, Pearl Jam, Jon Bon Jovi, the Jonas Brothers, Peter Frampton, Billy Porter, Zayn Malik, Darius Rucker, Imagine Dragons, and Greta Van Fleet, reports R Scene.
