Billy Ray Cyrus' children "genuinely worried" about him
"You’re not healthy, dad." Trace Cyrus says he barely recognises his father.
Trace Cyrus, the son of country star Billy Ray Cyrus, has revealed that he is concerned about his father's well-being.
He wrote an open letter to his 63-year-old father just days after his appearance at Donald Trump's inauguration celebrations.
The 'Achy Breaky Heart' hitmaker was one of the performers at the inaugural Liberty Ball. Billy Ray looked worse for wear and gave what social media users have said is “possibly the cringiest few minutes in entertainment history”.
"So far, the leading contender for 'Cringiest Moment Of The Year' has to be Billy Ray Cyrus’ acapella version of ‘Old Town Road’ at Trump’s inauguration," one X user wrote.
Billy Ray experienced a few technical difficulties during his performance, which made things worse.
"Poor, Billy Ray. He sounds like me doing Karaoke at the VFW after 6 or 7 Beers," another X user said.

Trace says he and his siblings are worried about Billy Ray. Billy Ray is a father of six. He has three children with his ex-wife, Tish Cyrus, including his famous daughter Miley Cyrus. They are also parents to Braison and Noah.
Billy Ray adopted Tish's two older children Trace and Brandi. He also has a son named Christopher Cody with Kristen Luckey.
"Since my earliest memories, all I can remember is being obsessed with you and thinking you were the coolest person ever. I wanted to be just like you. The day you adopted me was the happiest day of my life. Sadly, the man that I wanted so desperately to be just like I barely recognize now," Trace wrote in his open letter.
"It seems this world has beaten you down and it’s become obvious to everyone but you... Me and the girls have been genuinely worried about you for years but you’ve pushed all of us away," he added.

Trace also reveals that their youngest sibling, Noah, has "desperately" wanted him to be part of her life.
"...you haven’t even been there for her. That’s your baby girl. She deserves better."
He says they hope the man they once knew returns.
Billy and his daughter Miley once shared a close relationship. They both starred in Disney's popular series, 'Hannah Montana', which helped propel Miley to stardom. However, things seemed to take a turn for the worse after her parents' marriage started to fall apart.
Billy Ray remarried in October 2023 after falling in love with Australian singer Firerose. Their marriage was shortlived, and the pair called it quits just seven months later.
The divorce turned ugly with Billy Ray accusing Firerose of using him while she slammed his “unpredictable and volatile” behaviour. She further claimed that his behaviour was the result of “persistent drug use accompanied with the consumption of marijuana".
He denied the claims.
Trace admits that he hasn't spoken to his dad in a while, and doesn't know exactly what he is struggling with. However, he says he has a "pretty good idea" and will continue to pray for him.
"You’re not healthy Dad & everyone is noticing it.... As I write this with tears in my eyes, I hope you realize this message only comes from a place of love and also fear that the world may lose you far too soon. I love you, Dad."
