BTS’ RM denies insulting the Islamic religion following ‘Bad Religion’ controversy
"There was no intention to insult a religion."
BTS’ RM, real name, Kim Nam-joon, has addressed those who accused him of being against the Islamic religion.
This is after RM received backlash after he shared Frank Ocean’s ‘Bad Religion’ song on his Instagram Story on August 16. The song contains the lyrics, 'Allahu Akbar', and has been slammed as an Islamophobic song.
RM took to Weverse to address the controversy.
“You keep telling me that I insulted a religion, but I didn’t,” he said.

RM said he respects every religion and he had no intention of insulting any religion.
“There was no intention to insult a religion. I respect every belief and religion,” the rapper said.
“I know what’s going on Instagram. I can see, but there was no such purpose or at least one percent of my heart with the intention to insult a religion,” he added.
The singer cautioned people about making assumptions.
“I am 30 years old. I can express my true thoughts. […] Please believe my words from myself, not just guessing, pretending and assuming,” he added.
“I didn’t want to [talk] about this, but some people are making me [talk] about this,” RM said.
