Dolly Parton collaborates with her family on new album
Dolly Parton has announced her latest album, 'Smoky Mountain DNA', which will feature members of her family.
New music alert from the legendary Dolly Parton.
The star took to Instagram to announce her latest offering.
'Smoky Mountain DNA' features Dolly's family members and tells stories about Dolly's background.
"I owe so much to all the family members past and present who have inspired me along this musical journey," she wrote on IG.
"I am honored to spotlight our families’ musical legacy that is my Smoky Mountain DNA. Listen to our family album ‘Smoky Mountain DNA’ available now through exclusive vinyl bundles and on all streaming platforms," she added.

The album is a collaboration between Dolly’s paternal Parton family and her maternal family, the Owens. It reportedly 'includes duets performed by Dolly and various members of her extended family, spanning five generations'.
'Both families’ legacies are traced from their origins in the British Isles of the 1600s to their home today in the Great Smoky Mountains of East Tennessee. Through this release, audiences will discover the treasured heritage that has been preserved and echoed in the music and vibrant culture of Appalachia,' reads the album description on the website.

In other news, the singer is mourning the death of her dear brother, David Wilburn Parton.
The family announced his death over the weekend.
David passed away at his home in Tennessee on Friday. Country singer Stella Parton announced his passing.
"My brother David passed away peacefully this morning. It’s never easy to say goodbye to a loved one. He got his angel wings and is now at peace," Stella announced on Facebook.

In October, Dolly announced that she has released an album for the holiday season - 'A Holly Dolly Christmas' vinyl.
