Filipa is back with a brand new look and a brand new song
Updated | By Kriya Gangiah
South African singing sensation, Filipa, releases her new single Boys with Girlfriends and it walks away with the honour of the Chamberlains #HOTHIT of the week.
Filipa first broke into the worldwide music scene in 2014 after winning an international Ryan Seacrest cover song competition with her haunting rendition of One Direction’s Story of My Life. This shot her to instant stardom and provided a global platform to release her own debut single Chills on RyanSeacrest.com in 2015 to great acclaim.

With fresh and upbeat rhythm, Boys with Girlfriends was written and recorded by Filipa in Los Angeles, in collaboration with acclaimed songwriter, Pam Sheyne ‐ best known for co-writing Christina Aguilera’s global hit, “Genie in a Bottle”, as well as composing songs for Demi Lovato, Seal, Corrine Bailey Rae, Lindsay Lohan, and The Backstreet Boys.

“We had a really productive and fun time together,” Pam explains, “Filipa has the whole package; she is a true artist with a signature voice and the drive to Go all the way, not just nationally but internationally too. Filipa knows what she wants and who she is and is a part of the whole process. It’s been a pleasure to work with her on her project with my team, Andy Marsh and Deyder Cintron, and we all have very high hopes for her career.”
Kriya spoke to her about the new track and what it feels like to be the #HOTHIT of the week.
