Jennifer Lopez's reported net worth is more than $150 million (about R2.8 billion), but even she isn't willing to spend millions on a wedding singer.
According to several reports, the singer wanted Bruno Mars to perform at her wedding to Alex Rodriguez a couple of years back. J.Lo and A-Rod parted ways before she could walk down the aisle, but the singer was clearly pulling out all the stops for their big day.
Celebrity planner Marcy Blum has revealed that Bruno was at the top of her wedding entertainment list.
"I’ll tell you a story because I never signed an NDA,” she said on 'The Skinny Confidential Him & Her' podcast. "We were working with J.Lo and A-Rod before they broke up. And we’re going through a list of musicians and she goes, ‘What about Bruno Mars?'"
However, Jennifer was left stunned when she learnt the 'When I Was Your Man' singer's eye-watering wedding singer fee.
"'I said, ‘I just worked with him and he’s $5 [million]. She said, ‘Don’t be ridiculous!’ I said, ‘I’m telling you, $5 million plus rider.’ The night, you get 45 minutes, you get an hour," the planner said.
While Jennifer was stunned by his fee, Bruno is a 15-time Grammy Award-winner with several hits under his belt, including 2024's 'APT.' with Blackpink's Rosé and 'Die With A Smile' with Lady Gaga.
Bruno's $5 million is actually a bargain, considering what stars like Justin Bieber and Rihanna charge to be headliners at weddings.
Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant reportedly paid the Biebs $10 million to perform at their lavish wedding celebrations. Rihanna also earned between $8 and $10 million.
Beyoncé reportedly charges up to $24 million for private event performances!
As for Jennifer and Alex, their wedding may not have gone as planned, leaving us to wonder if Bruno would have ultimately been on their guest list.
One thing is clear: these are the kind of "problems" we everyday folk can only dream of!
