Jessica Simpson has been drinking snake sperm.

Yes, you read right. The singer has revealed that she consumes a drink containing snake sperm to warm up her vocals.

In her defence, it sounds like she didn't know what the drink was made up of.

"They're like, 'What are you drinking?' Because it's this Chinese herb thing," she said in a video shared on Instagram.

The 44-year-old was chatting to musicians in a studio when she confessed.

"And I'm like, 'I don't know.' My vocal coach told me to drink it, and they Googled the ingredients and – snake sperm. It's like a honey."

Simpson wasn't freaked out by the discovery and encouraged them to do the same.

"So, if you want a good vocal you gotta drink snake sperm," the beauty and fashion mogul said.

It's a good thing we're not singers because we wouldn't be able to try this snake sperm concoction.

Simpson appears to be pulling out all the stops to make sure she's ready for her music comeback.

She performed for the first time in more than a decade in March.

Simpson, who is known for hits such as 'These Boots Are Made for Walkin', 'I Wanna Love You Forever', and 'Irresistible' sang at a Recording Academy event in Austin, Texas, on March 12.

"Last night was my first performance in 15 years. It was an emotional coming back home to the best part of myself," she said.

"Thank you for embracing me. You know that I have so much to say, but this lucky voice gets to soar again tonight. I love y’all. More to come…" the 'With You' hitmaker promised.

A few days after the performance, Simpson released her EP, 'Nashville Canyon, Part 1'.

The EP includes the songs, 'Blame Me' and 'Leave'.

"I sing because I’m happy, I sing because I’m free. His eyes are on the sparrow and I know He watches me. God told me I needed to feel the fear and do it anyway as I’m moving into my truth while embracing the beauty of uncertainty," she said.

Simpson hoped that fans would "catch the vibes" and "wrap their heart and soul around" her new project.

"Nashville Canyon is the result of learning to hear my heart again, free from industry expectations. It’s about surrendering, letting my voice be my main guide, and trusting the journey ahead. Always inviting God into the room where music creates itself, with a voice that communicates on a spiritual level of grace without fear and allowing the music to be my main voice."
