Katy Perry's production company has come under fire after the release of her latest music video, 'Lifetimes'.

The music video came out on August 8.

It features Katy partying and dancing on the islands of Ibiza and Formentera and it is reported that she even danced on the protected dunes on the isle.

Rolling Stone reports that the Environmental Department of the Balearic Islands launched a probe of Perry’s music video on Tuesday.

According to the publication, the video’s production company did not secure the necessary authorisation before filming.

"We want to clarify that in no case had the production company requested authorisation from the ministry to carry out the filming, and that is why preliminary investigation actions have been initiated," the statement read, as quoted by ABC
