Metallica’s new album becomes first not to reach #1 on Billboard chart
Updated | By Poelano Malema
This is the first time a Metallica album has failed to reach the number one spot on Billboard 200 chart.
Metallica is known as the biggest rock band in the world.
It is also known to release music that tops the charts.
But, for the first time in 32 years, Metallica’s latest album has not debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart. This was reported by Pitchfork on 23 April.
The album, '72 Seasons', was released on 14 April.
It is the eleventh studio album by the American heavy metal band and has 12 songs.

The album was topped by Morgan Wallen’s 'One Thing at a Time', which was released in March. The album has occupied the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200 since its release.
Morgan's album has held the top spot for seven weeks, reports Billboard.
Despite '72 Seasons' ending their decades-long streak, the album did make history for the band. The offering helped Metallica record the biggest week for a rock and hard rock album in almost four years.
