Olivia Rodrigo’s debut single 'Driver’s License' is breaking records

You have got to listen to this new song by Disney actress Olivia Rodrigo that has taken the world by storm.
Move over baby, rising star Olivia Rodrigo is here and she is taking over!
The Disney actress released her first single, ‘Driver’s Licence’, on 8 January. Just a few days after release, the song has already broken records.

By Monday, January 11, the song was number one on Spotify.
“On Jan. 11, "drivers license" by @Olivia_Rodrigo set the Spotify record for most streams in a day for a non-holiday song. On Jan. 12, the song continued to beat its own record,” Spotify tweeted.
On 13 January, it was number one on both Global & US Song Debuts on the Spotify Charts.

Not only is it breaking Spotify records, but it is also dominating on Apple Music.
Two days after release, it debuted at number three on the iTunes chart below Taylor Swift‘s 'Evermore'.
Responding to the news of the song debuting below her song, Swift praised the young star, saying how proud she is of her.

“I say that’s my baby and I’m really proud,” Swift wrote on Twitter.

Rodrigo explained the inspiration behind the song, saying she wrote it after listening to music from singer Gracie Abrams.
