The James Bond franchise received a nearly seven-minute tribute from Doja Cat, Lisa, and RAYE at the Oscars

Fans hoped the trio would perform their new song, 'Born Again', however, organisers of the 97th annual Academy Awards had other plans.

The performance kicked off with actress Margaret Qualley who delighted the audience with her impressive dance moves.

Next, Lisa descended from the ceiling in true 007 fashion to sing 'Live and Let Die'.

The song, performed by Wings, was featured in the eighth James Bond film, which premiered in 1973.

FUN FACT: Beatles singer Paul McCartney and his wife Linda wrote 'Live and Let Die'.

Doja Cat showed off her vocals in one of the most famous 'Bond' theme songs to date, 'Diamonds are Forever'. Welsh singer Shirley Bassey recorded the track for the 1971 film of the same name.

RAYE ended the performance on a high note, quite literally. She belted out 'Skyfall,' which Adele wrote and sang for the 2012 James Bond movie.

Adele won an Oscar for her performance.

The tribute was reportedly in honour of 'Bond' producers, Barbara Broccoli and Michael G Wilson, who recently sold the franchise to Amazon.

Lisa, Doja Cat and RAYE's red carpet looks were also inspired by the 'Bond' franchise. Lisa wore a long suit dress reportedly inspired by James Bond.

While Doja Cat and RAYE's dresses were said to be a nod to past 'Bond Girls'.

Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo also performed at Sunday night's Oscars.

The 'Wicked' co-stars sang 'Somewhere over the Rainbow', 'Home', and 'Defying Gravity'.
