Sam Smith shares emotional 'Love Is A Stillness' music video
The singer's latest ballad is making fans feel emotions that were buried deep inside them.
Sam Smith surprised fans on February 14 with a special Valentine's Day release.
The 32-year-old English singer, who uses the pronouns they/them, released a new song called 'Love is a Stillness'. The romantic ballad is a poet's dream.
They sing in the lyrics:
"Love is a stillness I never knew
You are the ground when I’m not strong
Even the silence remembers you
You’re like a rock in a rolling song..."
Smith makes a brief appearance in the music video directed by Haya Waseem, which explores the stillness of love with different couples.
While the song is just two minutes long, it's powerful enough to pull listeners in with its deep emotions.
"This song doesn't just make you feel, it forces you to feel everything you buried deep inside... Sam, thank you for this gift," one YouTuber said.
Smith's fans say 'Love is a Stillness' is reminiscent of the ballads on their first two albums, 'In the Lonely Hour' and 'The Thrill of it All'.
"I hope we stay with this sound for a while. I have missed it a lot."
