Selena Gomez announces new album with Benny Blanco

Three weeks after teasing new music, Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco have announced they have a new album on the way.
Gomez revealed the album's name and release date on social media.
"I always trick you guys. My NEW album 'I Said I Love You First' with my best friend @itsbennyblanco, is out on 3/21 [March 21]," she wrote on Instagram.
The couple debuted the album's lead single, 'Scared of Loving You'.
"Our first song, 'Scared of Loving You' is out now on all streaming platforms. Merchandise and signed products for the album are available for pre-order now. We can’t wait to share this special project with you soon!"
Blanco co-produced the song with Billie Eilish's brother, singer-songwriter Finneas O'Connell.
The song's lyrics appear to give fans a deeper insight into Gomez's feelings for Blanco. She sings:
"'Cause I'm not scared of lovin' you
I'm just scared of losin' you
I'm not scared of anyone or dying young
Or if you're gonna find somebody new
'Cause how could they love you
As much as I do?"
Fans noted that she has come a long way from being heartbroken in her 2019 single, 'Lose You to Love Me', which was reportedly about her ex-boyfriend Justin Bieber.
"From 'I needed to lose you to love me' to 'I'm not scared of loving you, I'm just scared of losing you,'" one fan commented on YouTube.
Some noted that the 32-year-old also "sounded so at peace".
"This song, the growth. I’m loving this era."
Gomez and Blanco started dating shortly after working on her song, 'Single Soon', in 2023.
He proposed in late 2024 with an eight-carat marquise diamond ring reportedly worth $1 million (R17,7 million).
"Forever begins now..." Gomez captioned a picture of her engagement ring.
Her fans are thrilled that she is finally getting her happy ending after years of heartbreak.
"Brought tears to my eyes because I saw this girl go through so much pain through all these years and now she got her well-deserved happiness."
