Shawn Mendes has released a new album.

The self-titled album came out on Friday, 15 November.

It is the musician's fifth studio album and includes twelve songs, including singles he released earlier this year: 'Why Why Why', 'Isn’t That Enough',  'Nobody Knows', and 'Heart of Gold'.

Shawn, who has over 71 million followers on Instagram, took to social media to make the announcement.

He said the music is about letting go and has helped him heal. "This album is about letting go of, and remembering who I am. It’s been my own personal medicine.

I hope you love it, Shawn, out now," he announced on Instagram.

The 26-year-old musician previously opened up about his growth in the music industry.

“Music really can be medicine. 2 years ago I felt like I had absolutely no idea who I was. A year ago I couldn’t step into a studio without falling into complete panic. So to be here right now with 12 beautiful finished songs feels like such a gift,” he wrote on Instagram on 31 July.

The 'Stitches' hitmaker thanked his fans for helping him heal by supporting his music.

“Honestly thank god for my friends and family.

“Life can be brutal but having a small group of people you deeply trust to walk you through makes it so much better. I have no idea how I would have made it through the last couple years let alone make an album without you.”
