The Weeknd's new album soars to #1

'Hurry Up Tomorrow' secures the biggest debut week of 2025.

The Weeknd's new album has debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 chart. 

His sixth studio album, 'Hurry Up Tomorrow', sold more than 490,000 equivalent album units, making it the biggest debut of 2025. 

It is also the biggest week of his career and his fifth #1 album on the chart. 

"In addition to the Billboard 200... 'Hurry Up Tomorrow' secured the #1 Top Album Sales, #1 R&B/Hip Hop and #1 R&B Album," a statement read. 

"[It] has also crossed one billion global Streams on Spotify. The album also secured the biggest R&B debut on the Billboard 200 in the 2020s."

'Hurry Up Tomorrow' is a hit in France, Australia, Germany, Ireland, Belgium, Norway and the United Kingdom, where it also reached No. 1. 

The Weeknd has released several songs from the 22-track album including 'Timeless', 'São Paulo' and 'Cry for Me'. 

Playboi Carti, Travis Scott, Future, Anitta, Justice and Florence and the Machine are guest artists. 

"The new album follows a record-breaking 2024, during which The Weeknd became the first artist in history to have 27 songs with over one billion streams each on Spotify. 'Hurry Up Tomorrow' serves as the final and most personal chapter of the diamond-certified artist’s acclaimed trilogy series following After Hours (2020) and Dawn FM (2022)."

The Weeknd will star in his first feature film in May. 'Hurry Up Tomorrow', a thriller inspired by the album, will released in selected cinemas. 

The movie also stars 'Wednesday' star Jenna Ortega and Irish actor Barry Keoghan.
