Whitney Houston breaks RIAA record

She has been announced as the first black artist to have three RIAA Diamond certified albums.

Whitney Houston is one of the greatest singers that has ever lived.
She broke so many records and her songs have been dominating the charts for years.

Her music keeps selling even eight years after her death.
The ‘I Will Always Love You’ hitmaker has just broken the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) records.
According to an announcement by Sony Music, the singer is the first black artist to have three RIAA Diamond certified albums. She reached diamond status (selling over 10,000,000 copies) for three of her studio albums.
Her album, ‘Whitney’, which was released in 1987, has recently been certified 10x Platinum, meaning it has sold more than ten million records. The album consists of hit singles such as ‘I Wanna Dance With Somebody (Who Loves Me)’, ‘Didn't We Almost Have It All’, and ‘Where Do Broken Hearts Go’.

Her self-titled debut album, which was released in 1985, has gone 13x Platinum and 'The Bodyguard' soundtrack has been certified 18x Platinum.
Other black artists who have broken the RIAA records include Michael Jackson, 2Pac, and Mariah Carey.
More great news is that Houston will be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame during the 35th annual induction ceremony on November 7.
