Will Smith is set to perform a new song at the BET Awards on Sunday, 30 June.

Get ready for new music from Will Smith. 

The multi-talented star is set to treat BET Awards attendees and viewers with fresh music from his rumoured upcoming album, reports Variety

This was revealed by Connie Orlando, EVP Specials, Music Programming & Music Strategy at BET.

In a report by Variety, Orlando shared excitement at having Smith back on stage. 

“From his start as a rapper to “The Fresh Prince” to being a box office king as one of the Bad Boys, Will Smith is truly a global icon, and we are honored to welcome him back to grace the BET Awards stage,” said Orlando.

“We look forward to Will adding to yet another defining night for the culture that is not to be missed,” Orlando added.

The exciting news comes seven years after Smith released his last single, 'Get Lit', in 2017. 

He released his last album, 'Lost and Found', in 2005. 

In May, Smith told Extra TV that he has been working on music for the past year and a half.

He told the publication that the new album will be the most “personal and powerful music" he has ever made.
