K/DZ (pronounced “Kidz”) is a pop and dance music production collective lead by the mysterious hit-maker Jax Panik. Having recently relocated to London (UK), where he now lives and works as a music producer and songwriter, Jax Panik has created a new network of like-minded creative musicians working under the moniker K/DZ.
Picking up where Jax Panik left off, K/DZ offers the same pop sensibilities, but with a harder, international-inspired dance influence. K/DZ will be both a music-making and gigging collective.
“Over the years, I’ve built up a network of amazingly talented singers, songwriters, musicians and beat-makers, from all over the world. We make magic together! What better way to showcase this than by launching a brand new project for releasing our music? K/DZ is the answer,” said Jax from his new base in the UK.
Leading the project is the single Haters – a track that takes electro-pop by the scruff & shakes it! The convincing song-writing is matched by the standard of production: recorded & produced by K/DZ, mixed by the super talented Jurgen von Wechmar and mastered at Metropolis Studios in London by Stuart Hawkes who’s credits include: Example, Chase and Status, Amy Winehouse and many more.
“I’ve always liked the idea of being part of a crew. Even though I have experience in releasing music under my own name, doing interviews, appearing in videos, performing on stage, etc. I am much more passionate about being in studio – behind the scenes – making music and writing songs.”
“The K/DZ band will be unified by a collective gang image and ethos. This will be revealed as we go along. The project itself will be flexible. Members might come and go. In the end it won’t really matter who’s in the music video or on stage – it’s all about the music,” said Jax.
In 2012 Jax Panik won two prestigious MK Awards (‘Best Dance’ and ‘Best Radio Hit’), as well as producing and co-writing 7 tracks on Toya Delazy’s hugely successful debut album Due Drop. This landed Jax the ‘Best Producer’ SAMA in 2013, his second after the ‘Best Pop Album’ win in 2011 for I Am Jax Panik. The latter included the hit singles Get Up, Dinosaur and Sex Me Slowly - Followed up by a year of successful local touring, including support slots for David Guetta, Akon and Sean Kingston.
