Justin Timberlake won the ‘Top Artist’ accolade during yesterday’s Billboard Awards and Michael Jackson performs from beyond the grave.
It was a night of virtual appearances as Timberlake thanked his fans via satellite, singing and dancing his way through his speech with his touring band backing him up. Timberlake was nominated in eleven categories and received seven awards in total, with his album The 20/20 Experience netting him Top Album and Best RnB Album alongside his Top Male Artist and Top Artist awards.
Later, the King of Pop Michael Jackson made an appearance via hologram, performing his new single Slave to the Rhythm in a show that brought members of the audience to tears.
Other artists to feature included Imagine Dragons, who were right behind Timberlake with 5 awards; Lorde, who received Top New Artist, and Robin Thicke, who received four awards for Blurred Lines.
