Quick facts… Volume 66 is out. And by now it should come as no surprise that this CD will sit at the top of the sales charts in many a CD shop for a number of weeks. Quite simply because if you don’t want to buy the full CD of your favourite artists and you’re not into itunes that much, this is still a solid way to go to get all the latest music on one CD. International artists on NOW 66 include One Direction, Katy Perry, Britney Spears, Pink, Calvin Harris, Pitbull feat Ke$ha, Miley Cyrus, Lana del Ray and Bastille while the SA music flag is flown by Gangs of Ballet and Goldfish.
Best tracks… Lorde’s “Team,” Imagine Dragon’s “On top of the world,” The Vamps’ “Can we dance” and Avicii’s “Hey Brother.”
What we have to say… Another strong delivery in the NOW series with only two weak tracks (Magic’s “Rude” and Classy Menace’s “Ladies Man” did not blow our socks off). We just wish that every NOW that comes out would be a double CD as opposed to only the end-of-year one.
It makes us wanna… “…pump up the volume…”
