It takes place every year from 25 November which is the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women and it ends of December 10th, which is International Human Rights Days.
When South Africa joined on the campaign in 1998, the aim was to attract all South Africans to actively fight to eradicate violence against and children.
Over the last 16 years, the campaign has continued to raise awareness amongst South Africans about the negative impact of violence against women and children on all members of the community.
