JACOB ZUMA CHEERED AND BOOED: President Jacob Zuma on Thursday addressed the National House of Traditional leaders in Pretoria and said the main reason that South Africans are poor is because land was taken from them. Zuma, who has been in the news this week after a failed motion to impeach him in Parliament after the Constitutional Court's ruling on his Nkandla home, was cheered and booed as he left the venue in Sammy Marks on Thursday. The President has also urged traditional leaders to solve land disputes with dialogue instead of turning to the courts saying that government is also doing its best to develop rural communities. Zuma said that traditional authorities have a key role to play in nation building.
CHILDREN OF ANC JOINS CALLS FOR JACOB ZUMA'S HEAD: The children of ANC leaders and veterans also added their voices to the current political situation in South Africa. The group wrote to the ANC's National Executive Committee and called for a special national congress. It's been more than a week since the damning Constitutional Court ruling: that the President violated his oath of office in the Nkandla spending debacle. Pieter van der Merwe reports.
CELEBRITIES CALL FOR ZUMA'S HEAD: Some South African celebrities have joined ANC stalwarts and ordinary South Africans in calling for President Jacob Zuma to resign. Marius van der Walt takes a look.
GLYNNIS BREYTENBACH IN COURT: Glynnis Breytenbach was expected back in the Pretoria magistrates Court on Friday. The Former NPA Prosecutor was charged with defeating the ends of justices, perjury and fraud for allegedly refusing to hand over her official work laptop in 2012. She was then investigated by the National Prosecuting Authority for misconduct. The outspoken Breytenbach blames a political conspiracy for her arrest. Silindelo Masikane reports.
JOSH GROBAN IS IN SOUTH AFRICA: Josh Groban landed in South Africa on Thursday as part of his Stages album tour. The crooner will perform at the Dome in Johannesburg on the 8th of April followed by a show in Durban and two more in Cape Town. The multi-platinum recording artist said he also planned to listen to some local music as inspiration for his next studio album. But what does he listen to in the shower?
"ROGUE ONE" TRAILER EXCITES STAR WARS FANS: It is unlikely to make as big a splash as "The Force Awakens" but the first trailer for "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" has at least caused a ripple in the Force. The 100-second teaser released Thursday led to a frenzy of speculation over the similarity between female lead Felicity Jones, who plays the titular rogue, and "Awakens" heroine Rey, portrayed by Daisy Ridley.
