CPUT attempts to rescue academic year
Updated | By HeartFM
Universities across the country are uncertain if they'll be able to complete the academic year, but the Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT) on Thursday said it has a plan in place.

The university is preparing online tests and assignments to help students complete their year.
The institution said it's secured an off-campus exam venue like it did after the 2015 'Fees Must Fall' protests.
"Our efforts are going full steam into preparations for completing the academic year. Naturally this will happen in unconventional ways. This means writing assessments at off-site locations and doing projects instead of exams," CPUT spokesperson Lauren Kansley said.

Kansley said the 2015 'Fees Must Fall' protests saw them successfully completing their examinations at the Wingfield military base in Goodwood.
"This year we are very grateful to them for once again opening their facility to our students, so that the majority who are serious about graduating on time are able to do so."
