Public Protector Thuli Madonsela will release a final batch of reports on Friday, amid bids from President Jacob Zuma and Cooperative Governance minister Des van Rooyen to block her from releasing the report on state capture.

According to a statement by the office of the public protector, Advocate Thuli Madonsela will on Friday release her last batch of investigation reports during a media briefing in Pretoria.
"She will also update the public on progress in respect of other investigations," the statement said.
This comes amid two court bids to stop Madonsela from releasing a report into allegations that the Gupta family influenced various decisions pertaining to cabinet appointments and tenders.

On Thursday President Jacob Zuma indicated that he will apply or an urgent interdict against the release of the report, that will be heard in the High Court in Pretoria next week.
Minister of Co-operative Governance and Traditional Affairs, Des van Rooyen also indicated on Thursday that he will apply for a similar interdict .
That application is set to be heard in the High Court in Pretoria on Friday, the final day of Madonsela's term as Public Protector.
President Jacob Zuma on Tuesday demanded an undertaking from Madonsela that she would not conclude the investigation without giving him a chance to interview all the witnesses, but she declined.
In turn the public protector asked the president to respond to the questions she had put to him during the course of the probe.
