Twelve injured in bus accident
Twelve people were injured after a bus overturned on a the Eikenhof service lane parallel to the R82 in Eikenhof, South of Johannesburg earlier on Monday morning.
According to ER224 the bus driver allegedly lost control around a blind bend which resulted in the collision.
The bus had 24 occupants including the driver.
"When ER24 paramedics arrived on scene they found that the injuries that were sustained ranged from minor to serious. ER24 treated and transported a total of four patients to Lilian Ngoyi Hospital for further treatment," ER24 said in a statement.
The remaining patients were treated and transported by other medical services on scene
Traffic was serverely affected in the area as there is a school on the same road and the collision occurred in peak hour traffic.
Local traffic services were on scene to help direct traffic and traffic is now moving smoothly in the area.
The cause of the collision is unknown, local authorities were in scene for further investigation.
