Two people have been killed in a light aircraft crash near Lanseria Airport.
The crash happened on the R512 on Monday afternoon.
Netcare 911 paramedics say the gender and identity of the deceased is yet to be confirmed.
Spokesperson Athlenda Mathe says the pair were "burned beyond recognition".
Reynard Nel drove past the scene a short while ago.
He says he was en-route to Hartebeespoort Dam when he saw smoke bellowing in the distance.
"I saw a massive amount of smoke. I thought it might have been a car accident. Traffic came to a complete standstill. Lots of motorists had stopped along the road to see what had happened.
"The plane was 50m to 80m from the road," he says.
