University of Limpopo student shot at off-campus residence

Police have launched a manhunt for a suspect who shot and wounded a University of Limpopo student at the weekend.

Mankweng Police's Mohlaka Mashiane said the student was allegedly attacked at his off-campus residence in the early hours of Sunday morning.
"The student said he had gone to use the ablution facilities at around 03:00 when he was attacked and shot once."
He added that the student was recovering well in hospital.
Police have opened a case of attempted murder.
Mashiane has appealed to anyone with information which could lead to an arrest to come forward.
Students marched to the Mankweng Police Station on Monday where they handed over a memorandum of demands.
They're calling for improved policing on campus and surrounding areas.
