The N1 south near New Road in Midrand was closed-off for all traffic late on Monday, after a milk tanker caught fire.

Emergency services attended to the scene where the tanker was ablaze on the side of the road, however, for safety reasons the highway has been closed until the fire department can extinguish the flames.
According to ER24 no injuries were reported and it wasn't immediately clear how or why the tanker caught fire.
Fire fighters were deployed and managed to contain the fire before the high was reopened for traffic.
