Widespread calls to #FreePastorEvan
Updated | By Suné du Toit
People have taken to social media calling for Zimbabwean authorities to release the leader of the #ThisFlag movement, Pastor Evan Mawarire.

Mawarire has been charged with inciting public violence and disturbing the peace after he voluntarily went to the Harare Police Station after he was called in for questioning.
Mawarire took to Twitter, where the #ThisFlag campaign was organised, to inform followers of the charges laid against him at the Harare Police Station.
The movement is calling for another shutdown on Wednesday and Thursday against corruption and the dire economic situation in the country.
Zimbabwe has recently seen widespread unrest by citizens calling for President Robert Mugabe and the Zanu-PF regime to step down.
